Shelley Shanks-Lockwood - Crested Butte, Colorado

Her Live Performance pieces have helped numerous non profits raise much needed funds. From helping to build hospitals in the Congo to speaking out against human trafficking, Shelley raises awareness. She participated in Peace Jam 2005 with Nobel Peace Prize winner Adolfo Perez Esquivel. She founded Artists Breaking the Cycle, working with other creative professionals to aid at-risk youth. She was named Peace Maker in 2001 after nomination by Child Advocates and was presented by the Wage Peace and Houston Peace and Justice Center. She has been a featured Artist and/or Special Guest in print, radio and television. Her Education vs. Incarceration series continues to inspire and help children whose parents are on death row. 

Shelley’s pieces hang in galleries, private collections, universities and charitable and corporate offices around the globe including the American Embassy in Singapore. Her vision is to spread the message that it takes all of us to help heal our world and her plan is generate involvement by hanging healing art in every single country across our globe.


Shelley’s distinctive use of vivid colors with combinations of acrylics, oils and watercolors create moving imagery that makes the canvas vibrate with life. She creates abstracts, portraits, custom corporate, and global consciousness pieces. To Shelley, art and healing go together. “It takes everyone doing their part to help heal our world,” she says and to Shelley “her part” is donating her time and talent to worthy causes.
