Children can learn to listen long before they learn to talk. That is why it is so important to provide immediate intervention. After an infant has been identified with a hearing loss and fit with hearing aids, The Center for Hearing and Speech now offers Parent-Infant speech therapy at no charge through the Houston RiteCare Infant Program.
This program, generously funded by the Scottish Rite Masons, is available for eligible children until they reach eighteen months of age. No infant is too young!
- Ensure that all families of hearing-impaired infants have timely access to the most qualified professionals and comprehensive services
- Capitalize on the critical time period for developing a deaf child’s listening and speaking skills
- Build strong parent-child relationships and strengthen parents’ advocacy skills
