Supervisory Responsibilities:

Volunteer and Events Interns

 

Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Director of Development, the Outreach and Volunteer Manager serves the mission of the Center through four main responsibilities: departmental outreach, the Center’s volunteer program, Via Colori artists and Via Colori volunteer engagement. The principal responsibility of the position is to promote knowledge and use of Center services and cultivate new volunteer and funding partners.

  

Major Responsibilities:

Develop and implement outreach efforts for all Center departments

Recruit, coordinate, and retain volunteers

Recruit, coordinate, and retain Via Colori artists

Direct Mail solicitation

Organizational or fundraising activities as needed

 

Work Activities:

Outreach:

Identify targeted outreach efforts with Directors. Implement outreach activities, not limited to: quarterly mailings, community presentations, Baylor Medical student tours, JumpStart to Listening, coordinate Noise Induced Hearing Loss Presentations, coordinate Grand Round presentations, Spanish and Vietnamese outreach efforts. Manage outreach budget. Outreach evaluation and reporting.

 

Volunteer Program:

Coordinate and manage Corporate Days of Caring, individual volunteers and CHS staff opportunities. Recruit and manage volunteer groups for events including Via Colori, Gala, and Project TALK. Maintain ongoing list of volunteer projects. Manage volunteer program budget. Volunteer reporting and database management. 

 

Via Colori Artists:

Manage recruitment and registration process for artists and Apprendista schools. Contract with guest artists and make travel arrangements. Plan and manage artist related events including promotional events, artist workshop, artist reception, and Guest Artist Appreciation dinner. Coordinate registration and voting of Apprendista contest. Manage Artist budget for Via Colori.

 

Direct Mail solicitation:

Draft direct mail solicitation to lapsed donors. Monitor success of direct mail and make recommendations for changes/ future content.

 

Organizational and fundraising activities as needed.

  

Physical Demands:

Stand; Walk; Sit; Reach with hands and arms; talk; hear; able to lift 15 pounds;

willing to change diapers, able to endure out door temperatures for playground supervision or special events.

  

Education and Experience Requirements:

A minimum of 2 years of experience managing volunteer or community outreach programs in a non-profit setting. Demonstrated ability to secure funding.

Bachelor’s Degree required
