Kenneth Pierson – Conroe, Texas
Kenneth fell in love with art at a very young age thanks to his fourth grade art teacher. She would send him home with art supplies after the other kids left class and continually encourage him. He went on to study Fine Art at Illinois State University while also on a basketball scholarship. In 1999, he came back to Texas to embark on a career in sports. He began showing at Sports Legacy Art Gallery in Houston, Pittsburgh, L.A., and Arlington and taking on portrait commissions, while also playing semi-pro basketball for the Houston Sharks. After about three years, he retired from basketball and has been working as a portraitist, muralist and street artist ever since. Kenneth’s main subjects are the human figure/portrait but his work is ever-evolving and diverse. He has a background in construction and uses a lot of found objects as his canvas. Kenneth has been participating in Via Colori since 2008.
