Ari Maruyama – Irving, Texas

Ari is a recent graduate of Tama Art University in Japan. Although her major was oil painting, Ari expresses, “I have experience creating art with various media, including installation, silkscreen, video art, sound art, and 3D art to express my primary study ‘the relationship between archives and human memories.’ I have exhibited my work of art in Tokyo many times as well.”  Her most memorable work was the painting of Antelope Canyon on a 64x64 in. canvas. She is currently a graduate student majoring in Art Education at the University of Houston. Ari believes art is a way of discovering oneself and growing, and she is looking forward to learning how art is influential and significant to the community in Houston by participating in this event.
